What is a privacy policy?
A site privacy policy states what the site does and does not do with issues
surrounding the privacy of visitors to this site. Most reputable sites have a
privacy policy, although they can vary greatly. The following describes this
site's privacy policy, but if you have any questions, or if anything is unclear,
then please feel to contact the webmaster.
Personal Information
No personal information is collected unless submitted by the
user. None of this information
is shared unless the circumstance requires it, but it will never be sold or traded
to third parties. Contact information of the user, such as email addresses or
phone numbers, is only used to respond to the user or send the user information
that he or she volunteered to receive. This site tries to adhere to a policy of
no unsolicited contact.
IP Information
The IP address of users is collected, but it is not associated with any data
that could identify the user. The IP address is used for statistical purposes
and for site security/maintainability. There are several examples of this, such
as the site counter which tracks unique visitors and also tries to track which
country the user came from by checking the IP address. Another example is
in a poll that tracks IP addresses of computers that have already voted, which
helps ensure against multiple votes by the same person.
User Tracking
No information is collected about where the user has been or which pages they
visited. An exception may be which sites referred the user to this site, but
this is solely for statistical purposes and in no way identifies the user. It
provides us with a means to see how users find this site, and is a common
practice on most websites.
Cookies
Not including the chocolate-chip kind, cookies store temporary information on your
computer relevant to this site. Some sites use cookies in an inappropriate way,
but this site uses them soley for improving the experience of visitors to this
site. Examples of this is for the login feature, which uses sessions and cookies
to track if the visitor is currently logged into the site.
