My vote for the best costume at the ISU Halloween Party of 2005 went to Diego from Colombia for his Johnny Depp costume from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.

Measles Campaign

The Association of African Charities, with the support of ISU, held a great event to raise awareness of measles around the world, especially in Africa and Asia, where it is the number one killer of young children. The measles vaccination costs less than $1 per child, so every dollar can help save a life. All the money that was raised was donated to the Red Cross, and featured a guest speaker from that organization, along with several traditional African dances. To learn more about this disease or to make a donation, please visit measlesinitiative.org/.

Purple People Bridge

The Purple People Bridge surprises many who first see it due to its bright purple hue, but it is a connection between Newport on the Levee in Kentucky and Downtown Cincinnati in Ohio. It is a bridge solely for people to walk across, and provides a lovely view of the Ohio river.

Sleepy Students

Being an international student can be very hard. You have to adjust to a new culture and way of life, sometimes work crazy hours, and there is always so much you want to do (and have to do). So occassionally this busy life catches up with them and the need to catch a few Zzz's. zzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzz

This event helped to raise $1200 from the donations of very generous people to aid the Tsunami victims. While the purpose of the event was a serious matter, everyone had a very good time!
